This green smoothie recipe is delicious! You can use kale, spinach or swiss chard – try to mix up the greens from time to time. Fresh smoothies like this one provide fiber and vital nutrients to start your day right.

Sweet Tasting Green Smoothie Recipe

I have tried many green smoothie recipes and there is a night and day difference with this recipe. Recipes that use water just don’t cut it for me. Switching to juice is my best secret for great tasting green smoothie. My whole family loves them so much we even froze them in plastic water bottles and packed them in a cooler for our camping trip so we wouldn’t go a week without them!

If you are looking to cut out sugar and calories, go with the water, but if you are looking for the best tasting green smoothie while adding vital nutrients into your diet, try lemonade or cranberry juice.

The blender I use is the Ninja – it is very powerful, sturdy and does a perfect job. Adding fresh ingredients like lemon and berries makes this recipe a great way to enjoy your greens!

Is a Green Smoothie a Day Good For You?

The benefits of consuming more raw leafy greens are countless. If you incorporate a smoothie into your daily routine, you could see increased energy, glowing skin, mental clarity, improved digestion, and stronger immunity. Green smoothies contain powerful vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients.

While I use this recipe faithfully in our home, I do try to mix up the ingredients slightly to ensure a variety of nutrients in our diet. I will swap the apple with a pear, or the strawberries with blueberries, or swiss chard for kale. Adding a fresh start to your day feels a lot better than reaching for packaged foods like cereals or bars. Be sure to check out our Recipe page for more inspiration!
